Bruce Solberg is currently serving his 2nd year as President of the Austin IIBA Chapter. He joined the local chapter to help support business analysts in professional development and networking opportunities. Since moving to Austin in 1998, Bruce has been involved in business analysis and project management for a diverse set of companies in financial operations and supply chain management such as Dell, Nationwide Insurance, and Oracle. He has his MBA from Texas A&M and a BBA from New Mexico State University.

Darrel Raynor is a senior technology executive, consultant, trainer, and turnaround specialist with over twenty years leadership experience streamlining operations, systems, people, and projects. He increases margin and profit, and decreases organization friction internally and externally with customers, vendors, and partners. He uses change management, assessments, business analysis, and human development to speed bottom-line results. Frequent roles are project executive, change agent, and temporary executive. “Darrel’s energetic and get-it-done passion influences teams to accomplish more than they thought they could.”

Renée Gilmer has over twelve years experience in both product management and business analysis.  She has represented both business and technical roles in the project development lifecycle and enjoys eliciting requirements from stakeholders and seeing them become reality.  She holds a BS in Communications from The University of Texas at Austin and earned the CBAP designation in 2011.  Renée is currently a Business Systems Analyst at Texas Guaranteed.

Sheldon is a Sr. Management Consultant with more than six years of experience working in both analytical and project management roles. His BA/PM skills span from selling the business case to managing requirements, schedules, budgets and stakeholders. Industry experience includes; commercial banking, financial services, logistics and insurance services. Products delivered include; CRM/ERP suites, financial and accounting applications and eCommerce websites.

Sheldon has his visions for growth, stability and community recognition for the Austin Chapter, and since joining mid-2011 he has a few accomplishments of merit;

  • Design and relaunch of Austin Chapter website, later awarded 3rd place for Innovation by IIBA International at the 2012 Building Business Capabilities Conference.
  • Organized Austin's 1st Professional Development Day - ATX BADD on August 17, 2012.
  • Gained new sponsors and raised money from local and out-of-state organizations to support Austin Chapter operations and keep chapter coffers in the black.

A native Texan Penny has worked in Information Technology since the 1980’s, long before business analysis was formally recognized as a profession.  She started out at the TX Railroad Commission as a programmer, but soon gravitated toward systems analysis. Over the years, she has been involved in almost every aspect of the systems development life cycle, but prefers the business analyst role because it is so key to the success of a project. She currently works as a Business Systems Analyst at TX Guaranteed. Penny earned the CBAP designation in 2009, and she holds an MBA from St. Edward’s and a BBA from UT Austin.

Mrs. Deanna Davidson is a Business Systems Analyst at the city of Austin. With over 15 years in the IT industry, and 10 years of technical training and professional development experience, she is passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential through lifeling learning. To her, Professional Development goes beyond just mastering work related skills. It includes personal development as well, and should always include ways to build and enhance leadership qualities. She finds few things more rewarding than watching people she has coached gain the confidence to share what they know with others.

Laurie Miller currently serves as the treasurer for the Austin IIBA Chapter.  Her prior work experience includes 13 years in banking, with the majority of that time working as an Operations Manager.  She currently works as a Business Systems Analyst at TX Guaranteed, where she began her employment in 2005 in Claims and Collections Operations.  Laurie earned the CBAP designation in 2010, and she holds a BBA from Concordia University.  Laurie also works as a volunteer with Rodeo Austin.
