The evolution of the BA with enterprise analysis and agile projects

Speaker bios:

Brian Basu has over 18 years of hands on progressive leadership experience in Enterprise Business Analysis, Product Management, Business Process Management, Project Management, Cloud Computing and Solution Delivery. He has worked in several information technology organizations for AIG, AXA, Maximus, Hertz Dollar Thrifty, 3M and Whole Foods. In his current position with Whole Foods, Brian is leading the Project Management of Cloud Infrastructure using Amazon Web Services. Brian holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Cloud Certified from Comp TIA.  Brian is a business analysis and project manager educator, mentor and evangelist.

Marsha Hughes has more than thirty years of experience in the software, technology, telecommunications, and Internet business sectors.  She has an established record of accomplishments in agile methods, project management, business analysis, software development, project management methodology development, process improvement, and courseware development and training. Her work experience includes Texas Instruments, NYNEX (now Verizon), Borland, and Vignette. She teaches agile, business analysis and project management workshops at the University of Texas Center for Professional Education, and developed their workshops on agile methods and business analysis. She also teaches classes for Watermark Learning, the International Institute of Learning, Professional Education Strategies Group, and Global Knowledge. She is a Certified Business Analyst Professional, a Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Project Management Professional. She has published and presented on the topics of agile methods, requirements engineering, knowledge engineering, and project management, and is a co-inventor on a 1993 patent for Computer-Aided Decision Making.  She is a contributor to the IIBA’s Agile Extension to the BABOK, and the agile perspective in version 3.0 of the BABOK. 

Marc Talbot is a software professional with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of IT roles ranging from development to software architecture to business analysis.  He has been a Business Architect at Seilevel for more than 10 years, which is long enough for him to become highly opinionated on the evolution of the BA role.  He spends a lot of his time thinking about how to optimize requirements delivery in a way that helps developers to make better design decisions that get them maintainable software.
