October 2021 - Proposed Bylaw Changes

In Spring 2021, IIBA harmonized memberships between IIBA and the chapters. This has necessessited changes in the Austin Chapter's bylaws to reflect changes in how memberships are maintained and how Chapter members are defined. The Board also voted to propose other changes, including removing term lmits to allow officers who wish to  The proposed bylaws are available on our website, here

Ballots to vote on the proposed changes will be sent to Austin members in good standing in early November and will be open for two weeks.

Governance

The IIBA Austin Chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Volunteer nominations are held in the fourth quarter of each year. For information on roles and responsibilities please view the link under About.

Nominations

A nominee for a Board of Directors position with the IIBA Austin Chapter must meet the following requirements:

  • Nominees shall be Members in Good Standing with IIBA International
  • Nominees shall be Members in Good Standing with the IIBA Austin Chapter
  • Nominees shall be available for the full 2 year term
  • Board Members shall adhere to the IIBA Bylaws

Officers shall be elected by majority vote of chapter members in attendance at the Annual General Meeting or by email ballot. The candidate who receives a plurality of votes cast for each office is elected. Elections are staggered so that approximately half of the officer(s) are elected each year to provide continuity to the Board of Directors.

Board Members and Officers earn hours toward IIBA or other Business Analysis re-certification.
